店名である「YELO」は、スペイン語の〈氷=hielo〉に由来しています。クライアントは、「氷に対する想い」をラテン的にデザイン表現したいと構想していました。インテリアに関しても、熱さを視覚で「赤」、居心地の良さを素材で「木」、この両方をミックスした空間にしたいという要望でした。インテリアのコンセプトである「赤」をどのように表現、構成していくかが鍵となりました。物件は、六本木の路面店。場所柄、とにかく夜の“赤”をファサードで全面アピールすることを考え、ラインによる光を赤いフィルムで覆い発光させる照明を配置しました。赤い光に照らされる木の質感が何とも言えない表情を創ってくれました。インテリアも木の素材を使いながら、赤の光と色で彩ってデザイン構成しています。実際に店から見る、赤の光に彩られた木の雰囲気を感じてもらえたらと思います。（尾崎大樹／BaNANA OFFICE）

The shop name “YELO” comes from Spanish word “hielo” which means ice in English. Clients planned to express their aspiration for ice in Latin style. As for interior design, they requested red color for passion and wooden materials for comfortableness and wanted to mix them in the shop space. The key was how to express and construct “red” as concept of interior design. The shop is located in Roppongi area, facing a street. We decided to emphasize “red” at night and wrapped linear lightings with red films and set them on the façade. Wooden materials show subtle face lit by red light. Inside of the shop, we also constructed the design with wooden materials, red light, and red color. We recommend seeing the wood lit by red light in the shop and feel the atmosphere.
