「GENIE’S TOKYO」は、東京ミッドタウンの“離れ”で、赤坂「マキシム・ド・パリ」の仕掛け人たちが作る、最高のホスピタリティーと料理をカジュアルに楽しめる「大人の遊び場」的な空間である。 遊び慣れた大人たちが人を連れて行きたくなる店にするため、ちょっとした驚きや大人の遊び心を感じさせるデザインを各所にちりばめ、スタッフとお客様のコミュニケーションが生まれるようにした。 エントランスには、店名の由来でコンセプトでもある“黄金のランプ”が出迎え、その先のワインセラーではシャンパンの泡をイメージした映像が気持ちを高揚させる。バーエリアは、銅色に輝くバーカウンターとソファ越しに広がるテラスからなり、正面には絵画の女性をモチーフにしたチェーンのアートワーク。そのチェーン越しに揺ぐ炎は、水蒸気を使った暖炉である。 レストランエリアでの仕掛けは、空中に揺らぐペンダント照明のリアルな炎と、キッチン上部の「YOU GOT LAID?」の花文字である。可憐な造花で作られたスラングは、まさに大人の会話のきっかけになり、コンセプトにピッタリなアートワークとなった。 奥にはソファを配した個室もあり、さまざまな利用シーンで大人が楽しめる店となった。 「SPACE PLAYER」（Panasonic）、インゴマウラーの「Flying Flames」（スタジオNoi）、「Kriska DECOR」（チェルシー・インターナショナル）など、「まだ他にはない」という新しい要素を入れるため各社に協力いただいた。（宮里貴司／A.N.D.）

“GENIE’S TOKYO” is an “annex” of Tokyo Midtown, created by producers of “Maxim’s de Paris” in Akasaka, where adults can enjoy the best hospitality and cuisine in a casual atmosphere. We placed small surprises and sense of fun in each design spot so that staff and guests communicate with each other which result in making them want to invite their friends. In the entrance, “the golden lamp” welcomes the guests that is the concept of the shop and also responsible for the shop name. The wine cellars show a movie of bubbles of champagne and that uplifts guests’ minds. The bar area consists of a copper-colored shiny bar counter and terrace space behind the sofa. In front of them there is an artwork made of chains which has a motif of a lady in painting. Through the chain art guests can see fire of steam fireplace. The gimmicks in the restaurant area are real flames of pendant lightings in the air and flower letters of “YOU GOT LAID?” at the head of the kitchen. The slung made of beautiful flowers give a trigger of adult conversation which fits in the restaurant’s concept. “SPACE PLAYER” from Panasonic, INGO MAURER’s “Flying Flames” from Studio NOI, and “Kriska DECOR” from CHELSEA INTERNATIONAL are adopted through collaboration in order to add “something new” factors.
